The comprehensive and effective transportation program offered by Parsons Brinckerhoff (PB) has produced outstanding results locally downtown Seattle. PB is a leader in developing and operating infrastructure, with emphasis on transportation, consulting and environmental issues around the world with 14,000 employees and 140 employees in downtown Seattle. PB subsidizes the local ORCA Business Passport program with 135 participating out of 140. From the recent survey results, the drive alone rate is 6.5%, which even for Seattle is fantastic. Other program components include membership in Zipcar car sharing, flexible work schedules and telework options.
Ryan Avery, as the ETC, regularly communicates with staff with transportation updates. With his leadership, Ryan is often a member of roundtable discussion and focus group sessions regarding the implement of ORCA card products for the region; Ryan successfully worked with corporate headquarters to demonstrate why the pass is a worthwhile investment. His passion and positive approach to transportation issues is worthy of this award.
Andrew Natzel accepted the award for Ryan today as Ryan was in Abu Dhabi working on a commuter train project.
