HDR Engineering has over 250 employees working in downtown Bellevue, adjacent to the Bellevue Transit Center. This company was in a prime position to change employee’s habits for driving alone due to the location conducive to encouraging employees to try the bus.

One way HDR enticed their employees to take transit is by removing parking privileges for employees. Employees can obtain a 50% company subsidized ORCA annual pass through utilizing the company pre-tax benefit program. HDR Engineering has offered an annual transit pass since 1998 and quickly moved to the ORCA program in 2010.

Of significance is the fact that HDR Engineering has the lowest drive alone rate in Bellevue as a direct result of their parking management planning. This is currently at 27% drive alone rate! Congratulations to HDR Engineering.
