U.S. EPA - Region 10

The Region 10 office of the Environmental Protection Agency is located in downtown Seattle and has been involved with trip reduction programs since the year 2000. The agency currently has over 500 employees, all whom enjoy a comprehensive transportation benefit program.

The U.S. EPA offers a 100% covered ORCA passport program, flextime, telework and compressed work week options and free membership in Zipcar as well as bike commuting amenities. The drive alone rate is an astonishing 5.6% for CTR affected employees. The program is exemplary for a government agency in scope and effective implementation.

*Some definitions: An "ETC" is the staff-level employee transportation coordinator responsible for the daily administration of the transportation program. "SOV" stands for single-occupant vehicle, and "CTR" for commute trip reduction.
