Concur Technology Inc.

Concur Technology Inc. is located in southeast Redmond in a business park with very limited transit service coupled with major parking issues for employees. Concur put a comprehensive transportation demand management program in place that provided employees with some great incentives to motivate them to try alternative methods of getting to work.

Employees earn rewards when using the Redmond Trip Resource and Incentive Program, also known as R-TRIP. In 2010, company employees reduced over 1,675 trips, 55,452 miles and saved 2,380 gallons of fuel, translating to a savings overall of $30,000! In 2011, Concur applied for and received a grant from the City of Redmond to increase the employee subsidy to $75.

Concur also has an extensive telework program and a terrific internal website. The proactive approach to trip reduction coupled with a desire to reduce parking demands results in an effective management supported program.

*Some definitions: An "ETC" is the staff-level employee transportation coordinator responsible for the daily administration of the transportation program. "SOV" stands for single-occupant vehicle, and "CTR" for commute trip reduction.
