2009 Diamond Award for Innovative New Program

Digital Control Inc.
Kent

Digital Control Inc. (DCI) is new to the Commute Trip Reduction Law, but prepared for this status by implementing a voluntary program first. The company has environmental goals coupled with an overall employee health and wellness program that focuses on smart and healthy ways to reduce drive-alone commuting methods for employees. DCI creatively designed a commuter program that provides a 100% subsidized FlexPass and encourages walking, biking, and carpooling. From bringing your dog to work any day of the week to monthly "lunch & learns," DCI has innovatively embraced the principals of trip reduction and is committed to reducing congestion in hope of cleaner air for the region.

*Some definitions: An "ETC" is the staff-level employee transportation coordinator responsible for the daily administration of the transportation program. "SOV" stands for single-occupant vehicle, and "CTR" for commute trip reduction.
