2005 Diamond Award/ETC Leadership

Pamela McInnes
Washington State Department of Transportation—Northwest Region, Seattle and Shoreline

  • Pamela McInnes, ETC
  • Lorena Eng, WSDOT NWR Regional Administrator
  • Azim Sheikh-Taheri, Regional Program Manager

WSDOT's own ETC shines as one of the best
Pamela is one of the hardest working ETCs in the region. She is totally committed to WSDOT’s trip reduction program and its commuters producing outstanding results region wide. Her spirit and ability to get the job done in the best possible way earns respect from WSDOT management and co-workers. Within a year of taking over the program, she was instrumental in the worksite meeting its goal of reducing trips as measured by state CTR survey. At the worksites, she provides one-on-one assistance to employees to ensure they have all the right information to make a good decision about commuting, including dealing with 38 different shift options for employees. As program chair and board member of the Washington State Rideshare Organization, Pam continues her tireless efforts to promote awareness of commute alternatives. Pam gives credit to her program manager and to the regional administrator who "are the true Diamond Award winners in believing and trusting that my work is of value."

*Some definitions: An "ETC" is the staff-level employee transportation coordinator responsible for the daily administration of the transportation program. "SOV" stands for single-occupant vehicle, and "CTR" for commute trip reduction.
