Personal touch and creative marketing get results
Management strongly supports Cindy’s efforts to achieve results with a comprehensive transportation program for employees at Hunter Douglas, the window covering firm. Cindy makes a difference by talking to every employee, maximizing the message sent by the organization's commuting program and incentives. Prize drawings are held monthly for participants, a choice parking spot is offered for rideshare employees, and contests and innovative marketing ideas are used. The use of Vanshare vehicles is encouraged and subsidized, and carpooling to meetings is the standard at Hunter Douglas. The program is implemented on a shoestring budget with great commitment and results. Last year, the SOV rate decreased 16% helping achieve a 57% SOV rate in a south suburban location. Cindy’s dedication to the mission of trip reduction makes her and her company deserving of this award.

*Some definitions: An "ETC" is the staff-level employee transportation coordinator responsible for the daily administration of the transportation program. "SOV" stands for single-occupant vehicle, and "CTR" for commute trip reduction.
