City of Bellevue ETC personifies city's CTR commitment
Ellen Smith personifies the City of Bellevue’s continued commitment to commute trip reduction and its employees. One of the great things about Ellen is that she works tirelessly to promote the program and provide assistance in transportation solutions for staff. Ellen is a dedicated vanpooler and shows leadership to others by setting a good example herself. Ellen runs a commuter of the month promotion highlighting and rewarding a commuter who is using alternative ways of getting to work. Creative marketing of the program and individualized employee assistance show results in a decreased single occupancy vehicle rate from the last state CTR survey. Over the past year, she has developed a program and events to prepare employees for a move to a new City Hall and assist in planning for commute options. Ellen and the City of Bellevue staff demonstrate a powerful dedication to the principles of commute trip reduction.
