| Recognition survey: 45% plan to improve programs |
|
Thanks to everyone who returned a Commuter Challenge Employer Recognition Program survey this year! As we prepare for the 2003 program, your answers will help ensure the Recognition Program continues to fulfill an important role in publicly recognizing King County employers for exemplary programs that reduce commute trips. The Recognition Program continues to be important to the business community as shown by 83% of survey respondents saying it is somewhat to very important. Fourty-five percent of those polled said they are planning to implement or improve commute options at their work site(s), as a result of the recognition campaign. For those not planning improvements, the local economic climate is one of the most common reasons. This points to the need more than ever for information illustrating how commuting programs make good business sense. The reports states that 70% of respondents were reached by Commuter Challenge advertising or promotional efforts, including this newsletter, the Commuter Challenge Web site, a mailed promotional item, a brochure and radio advertising. Nearly 65% of respondents that won neither Diamond nor Pacesetter awards were planning to upgrade their programs as a result of the awards campaign. |
